A Stone in the Soup is a wonderful story that combines the adventures of a young Hmong girl with the Stone Soup fable.  This book should be read by every family.  It captures the wonder and awe of a young girl as she makes new friends in her new home.  The love and connection she feels for her grandmother is something to which everyone can relate as she tries to bridge her two worlds.  This is a feel-good book that leaves you with a longing to know more about Stone Soup and our Hmong neighbors.  You can almost taste the soup as you read.
